Two of our Favorite St. Louis Shower venues
No matter the weather or the time of year, we’ve got tips to keep your wedding or baby shower local. St. Louis has a plethora of amazing event spaces for hosting the perfect shower, but we want to highlight a few shops that serve as double whammies…Lemon Gem and Urban Matter! Both shops offer their own in-house registry, making it twice as easy to support local.
Lemon Gem is a kitchen goods store that also houses an adorable private room upstairs. It’s especially ideal for last-minute wedding shower shopping. From saucepans to spatulas, Lemon Gem stocks a variety of supplies to make your kitchen the hub of your home. Mixing major brands such as OXO and Pyrex with a wide selection of small-batch goods is their specialty. Contact Beth to make an appointment. Once you’ve completed your wish list, Beth uploads all of your items to the Lemon Gem website.
Urban Matter is a carefully curated home furnishings shop that features the work of more than 130 makers, many of which are local. Its dreamy and eclectic outdoor space is super IG-worthy for showers. Shower recipients can schedule an appointment with Mary and Amy to pick out items and discuss specific details. The registry is then uploaded to a password-protected page and photos are added for every item, just like an online store. Mary and Amy have even started a contact list for events, from florists to caterers to bartenders. This resource is based on people they have worked with or highly recommend, so you’ll have peace of mind when planning your shower.

Now that you’ve narrowed down where to register, deciding what to add to your registry can sometimes be an intimidating process. Follow these tips to keep the process simple:
1. Many traditional tips regarding the process don’t always apply. Let your interests guide your decision-making process. For example, if you don’t entertain often, you probably won’t need a full set of glasses from the wide spectrum of barware available.
2. Consider your guests when completing your registry. Adding options from a wide range of prices will make it easy for everyone to contribute an item on your list.
3. Take your time. Allow yourself to browse and even revisit your choices. Trying to squeeze the process into a busy day will make you miss items you might need.
